Senior Citizens Party

Last Sunday Bohermeen community centre was packed for the most welcome party of the year .The occassion was the annual Senior citizens of the community Christmas get together.Held annually since the late 1960s ,unfortunately cancelled twice last year because of bad weather snow and ice. But of course icebergs and tornadoes couldn't stop this years party.
135 attended along with helpers and caterers the attendance swelled to close on 200.
The whold day was magic witht the christmas tree adding great flavour to the day music a few drinks and of course a beautifull meal brought christmas early to many.Stories are rekindled each year and some pass on sadly .Thanks to all the hard working committee led by the new Chairperson Jennifer Reilly who took over from the retiring Phill McDonnell who held the helm for many a year also retiring this year was Sean Reilly who stepped down as treasurer after many years minding the vault and he was replaced by Mary Ball but the unmentioned may take a bow .In every parish this party doseent take place .
