St Ultans Historical society launched

The adopted name of the new parish history group has a strong alignment with the old St Ultans well Ardbraccan ,whoose history preceeds penal and pagan times

Bohermeen community centre was the venue for the launching of the new parish historical society on monday evening .With an attendance of 25 plus the meeting was given some advice  by Frances Tallon of the Meath Co Library in Navan about common goals and targets of some similiar groups.
The committee was elected from those present elected were Chairperson Willie Hodgins ,Secretary Tom Wall ,Treasurer Henry O,Callaghan all in attendance were deemed the active committee.
An annual membership fee of 10 Euro was set.The next meeting was set for monday december 5th at 8pm ,it is hoped to have an invited guest to speak at the next meeting .
New members are invited to join ,it is hoped long term to produce a history of the community and short term to display a photo history of the community .

  1. Great to see this group set up. I'll make contact when I get the chance. I have been researching my family history and that broadened out to look at the history of the local landlords like the Thompson, Pollock and Roberts families and bits of information about the local community and the Great War and War of Independence.
